The RAND Office of Media Relations helps members of the news media set up interviews with RAND experts, produces news releases to inform the media and public about RAND research and corporate news, and works with RAND researchers to produce op-eds for publication. Researcher Spotlight: James P. Smith, Senior Economist — Oct. 22, 2009

James P. Smith holds the RAND Chair in Labor Markets and Demographic Studies and was Director of RAND's Labor and Population Studies Program from 1977-1994. He recently received the 2009 Ulysses Medal from University College Dublin, an award given to "individuals whose work has made an outstanding global contribution."
