About Health and Healthcare

Learn how this photo relates to RAND Europe

European countries continue to face the challenge of sustaining affordable healthcare systems while preserving standards of access and quality of care. Such factors as the rapid development of new (and increasingly expensive) health technologies, rising expectations for care, and population ageing are placing enormous strains on governments to deliver quality healthcare. Health authorities are increasingly under pressure to account for health research and healthcare expenditures.

RAND Europe delivers support to policy makers in a number of areas by:

  • Introducing the application of choice to policy debates on healthcare delivery
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of different interventions to improve quality of healthcare
  • Assessing the safety and efficacy of public health measures
  • Developing an evidence-base to inform R&D strategies in areas of health and biomedical research

We have developed a well-tested approach to working closely with clients to fully draw upon their expertise and to ensure that their stakeholders' understanding of the research question is fully understood. We aim to provide evidence and analysis that support both the learning and accountability of the organisations with which we work. In many cases this leads to the co-production of new knowledge and analysis.
